Yesterday was a lovely, warm, Sunday so we decided to get to work planting a few veggies for the summer. Since we had the trees in the back yard chopped down last year, this allows enough sunlight that tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers are now a possibility. We installed a basic raised planter, as well as used a small window-box type planter for a variety of herbs.

For the herb box we planted mint, lemon balm, and two types of basil, and in the veggie box we planted two types of tomatoes, yellow peppers, red peppers, salad cucumbers and plain cucumbers.

The raised garden idea is great---it looks really good, too. I'm sure you had a fun time putting it all together and getting things planted. Good job!

Oh yay! You have a garden too! :D Looks like you had a good time planting. Basil is one of the tastiest things to grow (I think). I wish we could grow peppers here but it's just too cold for too long. Anyway, I hope your garden grows wonderfully!
